Please note that the gala dinner has been postponed and will now take place 11th November 2021. It is with great regret that we made this very difficult decision, however in light of the uncertainty that remains around Covid 19 and in the best interest of the safety and well being of our guests, we felt this was the right decision. We are absolutely delighted to announce that Sir Ranulph Fiennes is our guest speaker in November! The world’s greatest living explorer (according to the Guinness Book of Records) will add adventure to this year’s gala dinner!
We are very proud to present Lela Burbridge, one of Rafiki Thabo’s earliest graduates. Lela will join us to speak passionately and with great emotion about the young lives we transform with our scholarship programme.
Ben Williams will return to Drapers’ Hall to once again amaze our guests with mind-blowing table magic. Among the baffled admirers at our inaugural gala dinner was Mark Webber, Formula One legend. We cannot wait to see what new tricks Ben has up his sleeve for us this time!
We are honoured to welcome back auctioneering royalty Edward Rising to host our live auction and excited to announce that this year our silent auction will commence online prior to the gala dinner, available to both guests and non-attendants alike.
We have the enormous pleasure of presenting the incredibly exciting, internationally renowned and award winning ALINA BZHEZHINSKA TRIO, who will be playing live at our Champagne Reception. (Photo credits: Alina Bzhezhinska and Tony Kofi by Steven Cropper, Julie Walkington by Roger Thomas)
2018 was a milestone year for Rafiki Thabo as we punched above our weight with an utterly glorious and grand inaugural gala dinner and auction at the stunningly beautiful Drapers’ Hall in London. The atmosphere was breath-taking and we raised an amazing £57,945!
The absolute transformative impact our work has on young lives in Kenya, Uganda and Lesotho is best explained by our scholars themselves in this heart-warming film. Our work to empower disadvantaged children through education is further explained below.
Our inaugural gala dinner was not only a great fundraising success, it was an incredibly enjoyable evening for all our guests. Don’t just take our word for it, we are proud to share (with their permission) some wonderful testimonials from delighted guests!
Rafiki Thabo Foundation’s scholars, trustees and staff would like to express our eternal gratitude to our generous sponsors, pro bono supporters and auction prize donors! Your support and kindness will help us transform even more lives with the funds we will raise on the 11th November 2021!
You are invited to support Rafiki Thabo’s work by sponsoring our gala dinner. Publicity and marketing opportunities open now until end of November 2021, with options for prominent participation at the Gala itself!
